Countries where drought persists; places where farmers have tried to tend to their animals but simply had to give up to the forces of nature which made life too harsh to bear. Perhaps, something totally different?

Pat I am rather bleary eyed this evening, but I know that I admire your work tremendously! I have never known an encaustic artist before and I am fascinated by your compositions, color, and visions.
I can definetly feel the essence of your title in this picture.
This is what I imagine when I think of Hell - barren, desolate, and unforgiving.
Looks like a sunset in a Mexican desert to me :)
